Ensemble Contraste Requiem, Cantique de Jean Racine, Pavane A concert dedicated entirely to Gabriel Fauré, to mark the 100th anniversary of his death.
Who are they?
What happens when art music meets popular music? The result is a delicious contrast in the name of this ensemble, founded in 2000 and made up of virtuoso classical artists who have graduated from major institutions and prestigious international competitions. The very nature of this musical group is to take the mystery out of classical music, to mix genres and to surprise with original concerts. The cult of friendship, the diversity and spontaneity of the musicians in this ensemble, and the search for their own musical arrangements, make for a programme that is original, demanding and accessible to all, from baroque and classical music to tango, musical comedy, jazz and contemporary creation.

Gabriel Fauré: Cantique de Jean Racine, Op. 11 (version of 1866)
Gabriel Fauré: Requiem, Opus 48 (arrangement based on the versions of 1888 and 1893)

This historic monument, a blend of Romanesque and Gothic elements reworked over the centuries, with its imposing vaults and colourful stained glass windows, provides a majestic setting for Ensemble Contraste.
